The Port Gamble General Store has stood on the bluffs above Puget Sound since 1916 — first serving the families of the mill workers who built this town, and now welcoming a whole new generation of explorers, day-trippers, and gift-givers who stumble upon Port Gamble and immediately wonder why they didn't come sooner.
We're a gift shop, a café, a little piece of Pacific Northwest history — and honestly, one of the most fun places to spend an afternoon on the Kitsap Peninsula.
How we got here
Ginny and Juan Carosso have had a soft spot for Port Gamble for years — long before they became its stewards. They actually got married at St. Paul's Church right here in town, so you could say this place has always been part of their story. When the opportunity came to take over the General Store in 2019, it felt less like a business decision and more like coming home.
Ginny has been passionate about retail since childhood, with a background that spans Macy's to her own carefully curated shelves. Her approach has always been the same: find the unexpected, tell a story with it, and make the people who discover it feel like they've struck gold. Juan brings a love of this community and a commitment to making sure the experience — in-store and online — is as good as the products themselves.

And because we know your time matters, we've done the curation work for you — so you can walk in, find something perfect, and leave feeling like a genius.
